FSD is building a new concourse that will add up to five aircraft parking gates and 57,000 square feet of passenger seating and circulation. The new gates accommodate the significant growth in passenger traffic over the past 20 years and the continued increase expected over the next 10 to 15 years. Beyond adding frequency to existing destinations, the new gates open opportunities for new leisure and business routes.
New gates are targeted to open in June 2027, with the full project completing later that year.
This expansion doubled the size of the baggage claim area and greatly expanded the volume of bags that could be circulated for arrival passengers retrieving their luggage. It also included additional restroom facilities and more seating in an expanded baggage claim waiting area.
More Past Projects
FSD began construction in June 2015 on multiple upgrades throughout the Airport. These upgrades enhance the ease of travel through FSD and were completed in late 2016.
